In 2003 Tom Slemen hosted a ghost walk for twenty people who had entered and won a competition in the Liverpool Daily Post. The walk proved to be a huge success and his fans clamoured for more. Giving in to public pressure, Tom announced in the Liverpool Echo that he would be conducting another walk, beginning at Paradise Street bus station. He expected a handful of people to turn up, but when he arrived at the station he was confronted by at least five hundred eager fans. Again, the walk was a huge success, but also a logistical nightmare.
His latest book, Liverpool Ghost Walk, was written to give all his readers a chance to visit, at first hand, some of those places in the city centre which have been affected by supernatural events. Taking in Bold Street, Rodney Street, the two cathedrals and Brownlow Hill, the Liverpool Ghost Walk delivers a brush with the paranormal which will not easily be forgotten.
For those too timid or infirm to actually walk The Walk, the map and pictures which accompany the stories, enable the reader to enjoy them in the safety of their own armchair. But for those intrepid enough to actually visit each of the locations, including the creepy Victorian cemetery which lies in the shadowy depths of the Anglican Cathedral, who knows what they might encounter.
